I don't usually post the random pressed and dried flowers and plants I find in books; I come across them so often and there are so many more interesting things to share with you. This particular batch of flora was too much to resist.
The book is volume five of "The New Testament with Commentary and Critical Notes by Adam Clarke" published by B. Waugh and T. Mason, 1833.
Here's what I found inside:
There was another volume from the same set in the box, and yet that one didn't have a single plant inside.

Rather artistic looking.
ReplyDeleteAmazing! Some of the flowers look more like whole plants. It would be fun to know when they were put there. With so many flowers it makes me think the the book was more useful for pressing than for reading. Thanks for sharing. I don't usually comment but I follow in feedly and always enjoy seeing what you've found.
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful flowers! I agree with Nancy, some of those seem like whole plants. I wonder why all of those were in only one volume?
