Pressed Into Service
I don't usually post the random pressed and dried flowers and plants I find in books; I come across them so often and there are so many more interesting things to share with you. This particular batch of flora was too much to resist.
The book is volume five of "The New Testament with Commentary and Critical Notes by Adam Clarke" published by B. Waugh and T. Mason, 1833.
Here's what I found inside:
There was another volume from the same set in the box, and yet that one didn't have a single plant inside.

Merry Christmas
Here's a Christmas card from author Booth Tarkington.
The writing on the reverse side is tough to decipher, I enlisted the help of Twitter and here's what we came up with:
Tarkington's second wife was Susanah Keifer Robinson, according to Wikipedia.
"Flora" could be "Floss," a nickname for Florence.
Found in "Rumbin Galleries" by Booth Tarkington. Published by Literary Guild, 1937.

Goodness Of Heart
I'm not sure what this little piece of ephemera started out as, but it ended up as a fine bookmark. It's marked "Art Supplement - Buffalo Courier" and has the following verse:
A photograph shows
One's features, in part,
But it never can picture
One's goodness of heart.
Pre X-rays, right?
