Doing a little sleuthing, it appears this Agnes Hamilton at West Walnut Lane in Germantown (whom the receipt is written to) was the wife or other family member of the Charles Hamilton, Jr. of West Walnut Lane in Germantown mentioned in this earlier post of yours:
If you received both books at once that helps narrow down the former owners' library a bit. I guess he worked in or had a strong interest in finance (as evidenced by his having the book The Masters of Capital) and she into poetry (per her Longfellow book).
$2.00 sounds like a lot of money back then for a book.
