A "play bookmark" from the Biltmore Theatre in New York City, advertising "Clutterbuck" featuring Arthur Margetson. There's no date on the bookmark, but a little research shows that the play ran in 1949-1950 or so, and it was "daffy taffy featuring Freudian fripperies."
Found in "Blizzard" by Phil Stong. Published by Doubleday, 1955.
Here's a bonus image for you, Mr. Stong's unusual author photo from the back jacket flap -

Surely Stong, not Strong? Unless that back cover's lying... Great blog, by the way. I post the occasional piece of bookmark ephemera myself...
ReplyDeleteThat's truly a strange picture for an author!
ReplyDeleteA daffy taffy featuring Freudian fripparies... wow, these are the writers who created some of the most memory song lyrics ever! That's just amazing, Kathy
ReplyDeleteHello! I just found your blog. Pretty cool bookmark in this post!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to start reading your blog all the time, because it looks like you have a big book giveaway every Friday. This is almost too much for me to imagine! It's too bad that I arrived a day late, because I would especially have liked to have been in the drawing yesterday with such a wonderful assortment of books.
I'll be back! Have yourself a great weekend.
