I've posted a lot of photos here on Forgotten Bookmarks, but this one is my favorite.

Found in "Gumpy - Son of Spunk" by Arthur C. Bartlett. Puvlished by Cupples & Leon, 1930.

  6. furth, it's a kid's book from the 30s, Gumpy is a dog. The secondary title is "The Story of a Little Sled Dog With a Big Heart."

  8. I feel for the darling little girl with the braces on her legs (POLIO). Although she seems to be enjoying herself like the other kids are, I wonder if she would have preferred to hide her legs somehow.
    In my era (the 1950's) the little girl in our class who had a brace on one leg was allowed to wear pants while it was strictly dresses for the rest of us.
