ReplyDeleteI'm late to this. The flu has swept through our house to the point I didn't touch the internet! *gasp* I know, blasphemy ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat is the title of the thin black book on the top of the stack? Is it Ivanhoe?

ReplyDeleteThere's something about the smell and sight of old books that stirs my soul. I've had several jobs in bookstores, my favorite being an independent bookstore in Edmonton, Alberta. Living the days amongst the stacks, then going home and curling up on the sofa with a book with a warm cuppa and a cookie, then starting it all over again--bliss. I have this crazy dream that someday I'll live in a house with one of those neat old libraries with shelves to the ceiling filled with books, a sliding ladder, a fireplace, comfy, overstuffed chairs and a windowseat. The perfect environment for a life of reading!
ReplyDeleteLittle men has always been a favorite. Your give-away copy is beautiful. Well suited in a library such as described above,as are the others, yes? ;o)
