I find old postcards fascinating. Or how about defunct or regional candy bar wrappers? Do you ever find anything like that?I love your blog.
no candy bar wrappers that I can think of. I have some random product packaging, soap, food, etc...
That'll work. Thanks.
Norrin - here's the Ivory soap wrapper. According to my note, I found it in a 1944 Life Magazine.http://imgur.com/tHqFE.jpg
I like interesting letters the best.
How about the strangest thing that you haven't shown yet?
H & E - here's a letter I found in a amongst a bunch of Asimov paperbacks:http://imgur.com/ebSIH.jpg
Bookish - that's a good question. How about this Post Office Department decal? It's pretty big, six inches across. Still has the original wax paper on it:http://imgur.com/i7ROk.jpg
That's neat! Do you know how old it is?
I found it in a math textbook from the 80s, but based on the back of the sticker, I'd say 1960s or 1970s.
Any old ephemera will do, but I', leaning toward trade cards or ink blotters. Wonderful litho images on a lot of them.
Love notes! They are the best!
What about lists. What was your most interesting list that you've found.
have you found any birds, free or otherwise? :^) [bird photos, postcards, advertising ephemera, etc]interesting baseball trading cards?
Ok, this is the last update for the day, as I'm due home and I'm hungry.Sorry to say, no love notes in stock. They are probably my favorite, and I try to post them as soon as I find them. Here's a trade card I found in with the Peterson's Magazine from 1865 I recently talked about on Twitter:http://imgur.com/XeZfc.jpgAs for lists, this is closest I could come:http://imgur.com/T0O6j.jpgFound in "Mrs. Lincoln's Boston Cookbook" from 1891.Bird-related material? None that I could find. I came across a peacock feather once while sorting, but that was really before I was saving this stuff.
I think letters would be of interest--at least, to me!
Letters! Yes!
OK, will get a letter up tomorrow.
